About Me

I’m Jane and I live in Chichester on the South Coast.

I have always loved making things, edible and otherwise. My cooking and baking skills were encouraged at school by the marvellous Mrs Jones who taught us all the basics and a lot more. I just wish I’d paid more attention in needlework lessons!

  1. Hi Jane, I like your “about”. I enjoyed domestic science at school – the dishes we made were all orientated around their nutritional value. The sewing was less memorable but I do wish I hadn’t tried to make a towelling dressing gown – it was bright yellow!
I’m also envious of the layout of your website. I’m new to blogging and chose the tonal theme, it looks clean and crisp but I didn’t realize how hard it would be to find my widgets – some of them are hidden behind a menu button!.

  2. The yellow towelling sounds interesting! I am imaging yellow fluff over everything. Thank you for the nice comments about my layout. I just picked what looked like the simplest one and it seems to work well.

  3. Just found your blog and added it to my list of sewing websites. Long long ago I got 3 As at A-level and won a scholarship to Oxford, and all my life the school grade I have been most, most proud of was the A I got once from the domestic science teacher, Mrs Cannon, for a painstakingly crafted A-line lined skirt in camel-coloured herringbone wool.
